The beach is an excellent alternative for swimming if you don’t want to stray far from Limenas, with sand and a few pebbles. With clear waters and all amenities (e.g. sunbeds, cafes, bars, restaurants, etc.) it is a favourite choice for children and families, just a ten-minute walk from the hotel. This beach is located about 700 meters from the hotel and is easily accessible in about 8 minutes on foot. As of 2021 it is one of the four beaches on the island awarded the pres-tigious “Blue Flag” award.

Pachys beach is sandy and the waters are shallow, ideal for families with children. The beach is ideal for children and children with children. Visitors have the possibility to rent sunbeds, as well as enjoy coffee or food, as there are two cafeterias and a restaurant on this beach.

Gkiola (otherwise known as the “Tear of Aphrodite”) is one of the most popular locations on Thassos. It is a geological formation that resembles a natural swimming pool surrounded by rocks and people can take dives from them. It is located near the area of Astrida.

Here there is the homonymous nunnery of Archangel Michael, which is a part of the monastery of Philotheos on Mount Athos. It dates back to 1110 AD when the ascetic Luke built a small chapel at the behest of Archangel Michael. The monastery is built on the edge of a cliff and next to it, in an adjacent bay, there is the homonymous pebble beach.

In ancient times, the white marble of Thassos was mined from this site, with which the mas-terpieces of sculpture were made, which are nowadays in the Louvre and other museums of the world. Today, it is a picturesque bay with traditional taverns and emerald crystal waters which at-tracts many tourists, especially at weekends. Pine trees, olive trees and ancient marble quarries surround the beach, creating a wonderful and unique landscape.

In the past, it was a secluded beach much loved by those who wanted to swim in the nude. Today, its crystal clear waters are reminiscent of a tropical paradise.

The sand is fine and white, while the waters are shallow and surrounded by green mountains. Here, usually due to the local winds that prevail, there are waves that are ideal for the adults to relax and for the children to play.

The beach is accessed by a narrow lane leading down from the main road and there is park-ing, although many people choose to park next to the motorway and walk down. Nudism is still tol-erated on the rocks that line the beach.

At a distance of 19 km from the hotel is a favourite beach with crystal blue waters, calm and shallow. The location offers tranquility and shade from large pine trees that tower over the sandy beach.

As the name suggests, here you will find a long golden sandy beach that attracts the largest number of visitors every year. Along the beach there are many options for food and drink. The beach is located at 12 km from the hotel, almost 15 minutes by car.

Exotic beauty

The beach has sunbeds and a canteen offering drinks and fast food. It is considered unique on the island with a white sandy beach paved with marble dust (due to the quarries in the area) and turquoise waters. It can be accessed either by car from a 6 km dirt road or by daily cruises departing from the old port (just 5 minutes from the hotel).
